New York should sue Apple for using their name.. "The Big Apple" has been NY's nick for as long as I know of.. Apple has to be pretty damn dumb to think they have a chance in winning this.

Business is Business, you think it's wrong of them to try to stop people from using an apple logo? Are you really that dense? They can't just say "Well we don't like the idea of them using it", they have to come up with a reason why they shouldn't be able to, so they did. Smart business move if you ask me. If they lose they'll just say "oh well we tried" and if they win (which I doubt) they can high five each other.

It's probably an important thing for them to file an opposition, in order to protect their own mark. They may need to do this in order that someone else can't come along later and challenge their use of a new take on their Apple logo, or if they style a green one, etc.. B) If it was another computer company, software company or an electronic company then they MIGHT have a point. No one is going confuse a CITY with a COMPUTER.
