    Magazine from a website

how come nobody's tried this? adult magazine biz is in decline but some still do pretty well - Gallery Magazine and whatever else they owned was bought out of bankruptcy for a fair bit of money

i think Met Art or FTV Girls and similar sites would find a fairly big market for themselves as a glossy magazine.
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

I think it would be very difficult starting a print magazine at this point in time.

You would have to invest a shit load of money up front and then hope you didn't lose your ass.
I was looking for a job, and then I found a job

Printing would kill you. It is so expensive to print a good quality magazine at the volume you would need to attract advertising. Then you have to mail it out, which gets more expensive every year. Print publications are on the decline, even the larger newspapers are just trying to keep the doors open.

Total waste of time Mutt, unless you want to gamble with millions of dollars like the guy from Perfect Ten did. How did that work out... Why not just concentrate on web sites and DVD?

Print is not the only major cost. It takes a lot of man hours and people to get a magazine printed.

Your right and I think print adult's glory days are long over. I think if today someone starts a mag it has more to with ego than a good business choice.

I can see a calender as being a viable way to test the waters with print

Nothing beats a magazine in hand.. I dunno what it is, but it's always nice to sit down and read short articles in a mag. (not meaning porn)

the problem is, mag's just can't compete with the internet. I mean a website can update daily and can be free to the reader. Yet a magazine costs money and is only updated once per month.

with that said a mag at this time seems to be a lost cause.
