    What kind of computer are you rocking?

    I just got a sweet little quad core intel setup....liquid & fan cooled with a box full of ram

    What ya got beneath the desk these days?

          e8400,600 watts,4 gig of 667 ddr2,36 gig raptor for c,400 gig,300 gig and forgot the space in the other one. xp pro sp3 my case has 4 fans including a 8 inch one on top.

                              I have a KVM to my audio PC, older CPU etc..

                              Has an EchoMIDI card with 1/4" outs
                              25 key M-Audio USB keyboard
                              Rode microphone on a tripod

                              Both PC's share a Dell 24" ultrabright, and a pair of KRK Rokit 8 powered monitors. The speakers have RCA, XLR and TRS (1/4" balanced) inputs, so I can run both PC's to the speakers at the same time with no switching.

                              Nothing like 60lbs of speakers beside your monitor.

                                                      Hey what's the deal with those new 640gb drives from WD? Why the hype? Why 640?

                                                      Also has anyone upgraded from a decent dual core (my e6600 for example is 2.4ghz overclocked to 3.22ghz) to a quadcore? I wonder if there's much of a difference

I don't play video games and think people who do are wasting time. So now I just get what I need to run photoshop, dreamweaver, metapad, AOL, Live Writer, ICQ, IE, Firefox and AntiVirus/Firewall.

                                                              I almost shelled out $2500 for the system I have now... or would have had but then rethought and bought this one for $550.

                                                                          I still get a nice system for myself. It's a nice tax write off, plus I like being able to play and do everything from my main machine. I have 2 more PC's and a laptop that I use for various things.

                                                                          But I like having a top of the line system every 18-24 months. Plus I need every write off I can get. Single dude. No kids. Not married.

I had a decent HP but the motherboard died so now this is all I have. the p4 is really old and running an old OS from 2002 or so.

                                                                                                                                                                                      every other time i power down i have to reinstall the damn drivers.
                                                                                                                                                                                      and the newer the drivers the worse it is...
                                                                                                                                                                                      they wont even stay installed through the required reboot.

                                                                                                                                                                                      so i'm back to old drivers.. and got a BSOD for the first time in years caused by an nvidia dll... weird... it's coming out soon.
