If GFY was smart there would be no prizes at all. Why attract broke people chasing after a $100 prize? That will just scare away the people who are here to do business.

It seemed to work out well from them in the past. For awhile, it was quite a bit deal...and people here had more money then than the do now.

I agree. If the prize is worth a few hundred bucks though, it becomes a different story. Though broke people/newbies can still come up with great biz ideas/topics/discussions

I don't know Roald's financial status but I can only assume that he isn't broke, I know that he's not a newbie either. He put a lot of work and created a fantastic post that was enjoyed by many. Whether or not he got a prize, he didn't care. He did it to give back to the community. Some people are actually helpful. They are good people that like to share.

For those commenting on the prize offered, we aren't opposed to giving out different, even bigger/better prizes. We are rolling out quite a few contests in the upcoming months all for the bigger purpose of increasing activity and interaction while building a closer sense of community.

The contests will have different prizes. The bigger the contest, the bigger the prize.

The reason I made the thread was because I was exactly a year at PayServe that day and figured people might enjoy to read about my first year being on the other side. Not 1 moment I thought about creating it to win something.

I come to GFY for entertainment and the the occasional business thread. I enjoy the board and giving some insight and thoughts on biz back doesn't hurt so why not ;)

Not sure how this turned into a we need bigger prizes thread but in the end I don't really care. Perhaps it sounded like that when I passed on the shirt but that was not meant like that.
