Other articles state that the doctor was feeling sluggish for days, but didn't develop a fever until today. However, he did go bowling in Brooklyn yesterday. What is wrong with people? If you return from West Africa, you should quarantine yourself for at least 21 days! Ad doctor should know better.Comment

Like I said to a friend last night, why aren't the doctors who are wanting to return from West Africa being quarantined for 21 days before being allowed to board a flight?
Anyway, the fact that it's a doctor should mitigate the risks. At least doctors understand how it spreads and are used to washing and sanitizing their hands a thousand times per day.
Also, it makes sense that most of these Ebola patients are people who've been caring for Ebola patients... it's HARD to catch naturally. This is kind of proof that should put peoples fears more to rest, rather than stoking them up.Last edited by Tom_PM; 10-24-2014, 06:24 AM.43-922-863 Shut up and play your guitar.

This Dr. apparently didn't understand how it spreads, since he went bowling, rode the subway and now has put his gal pal and a few others he was apparently close to, at risk of infection.Like I said to a friend last night, why aren't the doctors who are wanting to return from West Africa being quarantined for 21 days before being allowed to board a flight?

I totally get that the flu kills more people, and the odds of catching ebola are slim, but so far every person diagnosed in the states has been, flying around, riding trains, taking boat rides, and just plain being careless. Not to mention, we are flying people to all different kinds of locations for treatment from nurses and doctors, who have next to no training on how to properly keep from getting infected, instead of keeping them at one facility with a well trained staff that has more then a half an hour training.
I'm not surprised at all, but it shows how dumb we are as a society that these errors and misjudgments just keep getting thrown on the pile.HelloComment

He basically did the new york bucket list in two days, all he has left to do is go to the statue of liberty and dance with the rockettes.
The bowling alley, they can deal with, the uber car, ok, but the subway ... if he held the strap or the bar, how many people touched it after him? They can't begin to track them all. it becomes impossible to quarantine. Everyone here is exposed to 1000s of people a day. Let's hope they're right about the difficulty of transmission.Comment

And the doctors and nurses are usually wearing "space suits" when they are with ebola patients.
And yet, they keep telling us how "difficult" it is to catch it.
I heard someone say the other day that if you didn't know any better, you would think the CDC is actually the "CDR" (center for disease redistribution)-Robbie
