Converting Kazaa

I've noticed that a lot of file sharing programs return porn-related results and ads (.txt, etc) even though I am not looking for porn. Sometimes the filename doesn't even seem to have the keywords I am searching for.

I also noticed another thread on this board with someone saying they convert pretty well on traffic they get from stuff they distribute on Kazaa.

I have two questions:

1) How do these guys load the search results? Is there some crooked Kazaa client that allows this?

2) How much traffi can you generate this way? I saw someone (sorry, I forget who you are) saying they converted at 1:300 on this traffic. That's not bad, but if you only generate 300 hits/month it won't be much good. What kind of numbers are we talking about?

Getting lots of downloads with stuff on Kazaa is pretty easy. Just fill in keyword-rich keywords, descriptions, filenames etc, and you'll see many downloads (which cause even more downloads, etc).
There are many methods to get traffic/money from downloads, like urls on pics/vids, popups on .wmv files, homepage hijacking stuff, or even putting up dialer programs as downloadable.

I agree on that one, why should they pay fo porn if there is enough free porn out there? People using Kazaa doesn't want to pay for things otherwise they wouldn't use it.

Heh, don't worry about competition. I am on Linux and I am not sure if there is even a Kazaa client I can use. If anything, I would be using it on the OpenNap network through XNap (not sure if they're the same network; never used Kazaa). Still, a buck is a buck.

How much traffic do you generate off of Kazaa?

I can't imagine a good conversion rate from Kazaa traffic since the whole thing is based on getting something for free in the first place.

You're right, which is why I am more worried about the volume of the traffic than how well it converts. It's basically free traffic, so the conversions don't matter. You would just need to get a lot of it.

um well not Really...Kazaa converts and it takes time but done with the right technology and product of course it converts.

the basic premise of file sharing is not JUST get it for free. many of the users report they use it for the instant satisfaction they get from from it.

Record sales have stabilized and the industry continues to do well.

I'm trying it now, I have 3300 images named different niches. In different ways, an have kazaa on right now on my laptop. I'm going to leave it on for a complete week. On every single one of them images, theirs no content, just a huge ass link to a domain of mine that I just registered, with just a counter, no content. so no one knows about it. Going to see how many Hits I receive to it.

With Kazaa having something like 100 million users, plus all the other P2P clients this must be a HUGE market. Even if the traffic is shit it can hopefully be made up with in volume.

Music Industry is losing money from file sharing programs. Just last week I read on yahoo the Music Industry demanded a crack down on file sharing programs cause it continues to hurt sales.
Think about it, how many CDs do you buy when you can download all the songs for free in 20 minutes?

How do you make a link to another page on a image file? Is it a html file or an image file?

And how do you add pop ups to wmv files? Thanks

The music industry is also getting smart. I read an article about this a month ago or so didnt think much of it till it happened to me.

I downloaded some songs for a CD i made for a drive up to a friends place. Since I was in a rush I didnt listen to the songs before I burned the CD.

It seems the music industry now uploads their own files, with only samples or advertisements for their own songs, or in the middle of the song they plug DJ whatever. Once I got to my friends I had to fry that CD in the microwave

Good marketing idea, kills your driving tunes though...

That is truly the only protection they have and I think it will effectively kill peoples interest in swapping if they do it enough. Unfortunately the file sharing explosion is about to shift from Kazaa like file sharing to sites like these becoming more common... http://www.mp3mediaworld.com

These make it easier to get music. I almost took some myself it was so convenient. Everything is encoded at 192kbs too. The labels are still idiots though. They are trying to sue At&t, Sprint & other backbone providers for allowing people to have access to this site. That's like trying to sue Sprint for a phone conversation we had. It just doesn't make sense. As long as you can get away with this stuff in certain countries we will see more sites like these pop up.

The record labels need to make a deal with The Hun, Shemp, Worldsex, & a few other tgp's so they can image source these sites to death. They have to play dirty if they wanna win this fight.

I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

There is a script where you can launch a join page directly after the person views a clip off of Kazaa. Instant traffic!

As far as giving away an inside secret,this is such a LARGE market, I dont think trading a few tips will hurt too much. 100 million users cant be wrong.

Also, im not sure about other P2p clients, but I think in Kazaa when a user searches for something they are limited to their own node, (users in a closer/faster proximity to them), anyone know of a way of getting around this?
