Tech How to make your email not be sent to spam inbox?

Not talking about bulk mailing, but when I so send one single email it usually hits spam inbox. I checked my server's IP, it is not listed in any anti spam lists or anything like that.
Yet when I send any real email it goes directly to spam. How to "fix" that?

Use gmail/google as your email service provider should solve part of the issues as it will be white listed across many providers at that point.

    You can also look at
    https://www.senderscore.org

There are other tools you can use to check if the contents of the email are what is flagging the spam filter.. (link or text you email sig etc...)
You can check the MQS Score

        Thanks for reply.

I tested it even without much content, just random text. I have sent it to my gmail inbox, to my yahoo inbox, to my other inbox etc. And all had it in spam folder.

So what I am saying - it is not the content that triggers it.

Check as much is possible e-mail blacklist checkers,i have same problem with my ip,almost every third e-mail which i sent ends in spam folder. But not sure can it be fixed, better solution is simply to use another ip and see does it pass then.

Indeed, reverse IP lookup gives that there are many sites (close to 400 domains) listed and some of them are porn sites.

I understand this may be the issue, but how to be 100% sure? For example can I check it and see that lets say gmail has this exact IP blacklisted?

Dont think you can see that,as who knows what blacklists they use.

your email that is going to junk boxes, are you using your own dedicated server or are you going through someone else? if going through someone else then you don't have much control, if your using your own dedicated server then you can tweak some stuff to help it get in inboxes. I have my own dedicated server at leaseweb I use for mail, most of it gets in to the inboxes, you have to be real careful on wording because some places have spam triggers set pretty low, others like Hotmail will block or limit you if you send what ever their limit is set to in a 24 hour period.

                                1. How are you sending? How much?
                                2. Do you have rDNS set up properly? Have you check it? What does it say?
                                3. Are DKIM/SFTP working properly?
                                4. Are you sharing an ip with other people (i.e. shared hosting) or dedicated server/ip?
                                5. Are you sending through a mail client, SMTP, portal, UI or what?
                                6. Is everything going junk box (aol, gmail, yahoo) or just one cables provider like comcast, charter, tw, etc?
                                7. What is the error message, if any?
                                8. What kind of mail are you trying to send? Just text correspondence, or creatives/commercial/newsletter?
                                9. What is the domain? How old? Have you sent mail from it before?

As you can see, it could be any number of factors and those are just the easy ones.

                                    1. Its is not any kind of mailing, just simple genuine 1 on 1 emails to someone. Example - I would see your email and would send genuine email like " hey barefootsies, I saw your post about this and that, tell me more" etc.

                                    2. no idea what is that as I never done any "pro" mailing.

                                    3. I think so, otherwise my email would not be sent at all, no?

                                    4. Yes, as I already said it is shared IP with many other sites, including porn.

                                    5. Sending through my cpanel > email accounts > squirell mail (or alternatively by email client mozilla thunderbird)

                                    6. I am sending from [email protected] and I tested by sending simple email to gmail, yahoo and it goes to spam most of the time (sample size too smal to be certain)

                                    7. No error messages, everything works fine. Just not hitting inbox.

                                    8. Answered in number 1

                                    9. Domain is few years old, email account just set up. I don't think it has to do with domain, rather than with the IP...
ps: domain is addon on my main domain (shared acc. thing) , I am saying it because when I input my main domain here https://www.senderscore.org/ it gives 1st and 2nd check and only 3d No. And when I input my addon domain here it gives me: 1st check and 2nd no, and 3d no. So only 1 check for my addon domain versus 2 checks for my main domain.

there are a few things your hosting company can do/check if you have a managed server ask them.

No reverse DNS will cause it, if you don't know what that is then obviously you don't have it setup. And if you're sharing an IP with other porn sites I would also suspect that to be a problem, and not just with mail. Pay the extra buck or two and get a dedicated IP then tell your host you need rdns setup.
