majority of stand up comedy sucks, and especially the 80's shit.... its so played out. You just feel that its outdated humour. And especially the material of black comedians - 90% it's topics about black people comapred to white people. Wow, very original.... every black comedian does this, never heard a white comedian point it out so much.

Listen turd I'll be 40 by the end of this year. You were probably still in diapers when I was out of high school. I've been a fan of comedy ever since I can remember. I was staying up late watching the SNL with the ORIGINAL cast. I would also watch Evening at the Improv even before it was on A&E. I'd stay up late during the summer and watch Johnny Carson just to see what comic would be on. When I was 10 when my friends were buying music albums I was buying the latest Richard Pryor or George Carlin album. Every comic special that came on HBO and Showtime I would watch. I watched a HBO comic competition featuring eddie murphy as 19 year old in a comic where he came in 2nd( he was robbed by the way ) a year later he's on SNL. I saw Ellen Degeneres win Showtime's "Funniest Person in America" contest which launched her career. That win led her to her first appearance on the Tonight Show which I saw live. Were you even born yet? There's not one major comic that has come out in the last 25-30 years that I have not seen on some show as a struggling comedian trying to get his/her first break. I saw Ray Ramono 5 years before everyone "loved" him and personally I never though he would ever make it anything beyond a traveling stand-up guy. I still don't know how in the fuck he made it. I was watching Howie Mandel not only long before he was on some stupid game show, but long before he was even on St Elsewhere. Were you even aware he was on St Elsewhere? Of course not. And yes I even saw Martin Lawrence be unfunny as ever when he was working for beer money. Point being anytime anyone tried to tell about some "new" comedian I saw him/her at least a year before.
You trying to tell me about comedy is like you trying to tell brain surgeon about brain surgery. It's joke and a not very funny one. You wouldn't know funny if it had a 15 inch cock and raped you in the ass.Comment

It's "funny" how people who don't think Silverman's funny express I particular kind of craziness in their criticisms of her. Hate women much? Jesus, if it was a male comedian you didn't think is funny you wouldn't be spewing this amount and color of bile.
And yeah, I'm sure there ARE a ton of girls who look just like her, but we actually don't SEE women who look like her that much in the media (or if we do, they've dyed their hair blonde and plucked their eyebrows into nonexistence) so for those of us who didn't grow up in New York or LA she actually looks unique and therefore super sexy.Comment

I always think it's weird when people claim they don't find certain well-known comedians funny, like they're comedy connoisseurs with some elite form of intelligent super-humour. The best, most universally funny stuff in the world is physical comedy and even a retard can appreciate that.

You know I find all kinds of shit funny. Yes some shit carrot Tops does is funny to me. I also got a kick out of Dennis Miller( before he want all republican ) Ok you can't get more extreme ends of comedy than these two I find aspect of both funny. I find toilet humor funny as well as comedy that is one would say is more high brow or intellectual.
The person delivering the joke is as important as the joke itself. Carrot Top trying to do Dennis Miller would suck and Dennis Miller doing Carrot Top would also suck. A comic that knows his niche has better chance at being successful than someone who doesn't no matter how many jokes they can write. Those guys usually end up writting jokes for others. How in the fuck bland ass Ray Romano got to be so successful when other guys failed in sitcoms is beyond me. I never thought he make it big time and when he did get a series I though it would last less than year. So I amdit I totally blew that call. It still baffles me though.Comment
