the reason i was banned , as i can tell from twitter was:
follow apps ( didn't use ) , pornographic photos ( just a little )

with that update it sounds like they somehow differentiate from what is in the feed and what is in the cover/profile?

mine was suspended then deleted from them after awhile - They don't seem to like adult stuff and I was probably doing something wrong ;)

That's the problem.

You can post pornographic content, but you can't have anything explicit in your profile or background.

It's a fact. They won't let you put hardcore images in your avatar or header pic. But in your content stream it's ok.

Also, be sure to mark your tweets as containing sensitive material, in your account settings.

I am currently in Twitter jail and trying to get out. I had an inappropriate photo in my profile and my header, based on what I can determine from the rules. I am waiting for my account to be reactivated (hopefully!)

I had the same on my account. Plenty of twitter profiles have hardcore shown on profile avatars & backgrounds though, just when they find them I suppose

It is tough to get Twitter account fully deleted. I've had many account suspended for various reasons and that usually happens when the account is new-ish.
