Does it mean that Obama thinks that Mexico, Colombia and other countries to the south are the US states? Maybe you just used to call it a "sphere of influence"? The Ukraine for Russia means the same as Mexico means for the States. I don't think that Obama will be happy if Russia set a military base in Mexico and put a few nukes there (just for a case of course). So Putin don't want to see NATO bases on the Ukraine. Why should I explain you such obvious things?
