Chio's actions really surprised me as I thought we were really close. I've spent time with his family, and he was a guest in my home. Some friends and I all processed our paysites through his billing solution for two years without a hitch, and he ended up screwing all of us. Definitely did not see it coming.
My friends had their payouts set to monthly to save on wire fees and got screwed a lot harder. My last phone call to him I pleaded to at least release some of their funds as they were really counting on that payout to keep their business going. He told me that he had started billing for gambling sites and lost his mids and the last month worth of settlements, and with the medical drama concerning his daughter his new outlook on life was to stop giving a shit about anyone else but his family and retire. What really pissed me off about that was despite the processor issues he was he was very successful for many years and had the personal funds to pay us back and chose not to.
I don't think he was a scammer from the beginning. There was a lot of trust back then and he was a very generous guy for a long time. Crazy how fast people can change though.
LOL at people pointing out the "pirate" nickname as if that has anything to do with whether he was going to steal money from people though.
