I thought I saw a thread the other day about one or more of the cam programs that had a little window that you could add to say, the margin of your blog that had a small frame sized live cam girl image displayed there that was clickable and went to the sponsor with the affiliates ref code. Maybe it was flash or RSS, I can't recall. Anyone remember who that was?

cams conversion is usually higher than dating or other paysites, but the retention is where you can bank in the long run.

But yes, cams do convert really well, for me at least. I love AWE's live feeds.

for general porn sites to just throw them on there, they convert pretty bad. With dating ads you can throw them on any site and it will convert - doesnt work that way with cams.
Im building some cam sites now to target the cam market more and see how that will work out

Everyone will have a different opinion on this, but in my experience cams are a whole separate market from adult. It's not liking dating, it's not like niche pay sites, etc. -- the user is often completely different and doesn't even surf porn or watch it.

Cams is most often about interaction - sexual or not - and it seems the market is very different from those that would, say, download full-length adult films or sign up for a micro-niche, and so on. So up-selling, cross-selling, etc. is a tricky business with cams, even when it's a complimentary niche.

If other's completely disagree, I'd love to *see* how you are doing it ;)
(I.e. not just "B.S.! Cams sell awesome on my [insert niche here] blog!!!" ... Post an example or explain, please)

As much as it can be tricky, often I've seen cams work well with voyeur, dating, amateur and anything that catches closer to the more ''reality tv'' type. Building a good site strictly for cams help a lot as well. The actual models performing will make a huge difference as well. A surfer can be totally hooked on a girl and spend insane amounts to watch her strut her stuff. Finally, if you have a site leaning more towards a specific type of race or culture (european, asian), getting a sponsor with the corresponding models will give the conversions a helping hand

Like with any other program out there it's dependent on your traffic. I've recently been pushing dating gold on some of my sites, got some free sign-ups but no paid conversions. I'm not disappointed though, it was just kind of an experiment. I don't have "cam" traffic so I wasn't expecting much.

I'm running a test for the last month to see myself what the conversion would be like. I've sent 1300 people over to a cam system, directly to a model on my site and the link is from my site. So far the ratio is 0:1300. The ratio of sales to my site from affiliates is much lower than this... so it's not looking good for the cams at this point.
