    You have 30 seconds to get out of a fire: What do you take?

    There was a fire in my building and told to evacuate NOW!

    I got my phone, wallet and strongbox.

    Luckily it was contained and I am back, but is there something you would try to save?

    Aside ofcourse from family..for I am single.

    Scary time.

                                                                  happened to me once when in Uni, our apartment buildings roof was ablaze and we lived on the top floor...ended up just waking my roomate, grabbing my wallet and keys and getting out of there quick....luickly other than a bit of water damage from the firehoses everything was ok

                                                                  Its nice to say you'll take this that etc ect but when a cop is banging on your door telling you to the get the f out then you grab whats nearby and leave...laptop was the last thing on my mind.

                                                                  Now I have a bank deposit box with all my important documents and copies of passports, birth certificates etc etc.

                                                                                      fuck once living in an apartment.. 3am in the morning the fucking alarm goes off.. thinking its a real fire... trying to get the cats.. had 2 at the time the fuckers were running from me.. ran under the bed.. I threw my bed over very quick, almost ripped my house apart to save the stupid cats.. next time they burn.. and all for a fake drill because of kids pulling the alarm.

                                                                                          I live in San Diego, and have done this three times already. I took pictures of my entire house beforehand, with all the cupboards open. Then I made a CD of it in case my house burns. So I would just grab the cat and my harddrive and I would have everything I need to show the insurance company.

                                                                                          In fact, just two weeks ago my canyon was on fire. They managed to put it out with planes dropping that orange stuff. I was watching it from my house. Really close.
