The true bummer is that sites like Bravo optimize their pics and often use pics from inside the members area that are not available via FHG dumps. So they didn't have duplicate content and the content that was duplicated was elevated.

Google isn't always the smartest book in the stack.
For the xxx time,google doesn't care about skimming.Unless you have matt cutts saying how it is bad or mentioned it on webmaster guidelines ,it is just a pure speculation.And while i dont know what exactly caused problem with bravoerotica,they do have duplicated content,either repeated paysites details,and they also used sponsor provided description,which is also a duplication.Google watch only text as content,not pics or videos.
