    I possibly just killed a little doggy

    I was driving on a road with bad light. Suddenly I noticed a little doggy walking on the road. I hit the brakes and the dog was able to get to the other road. I gave gas again so that the car behind me would not hit my car. Then the dog went back to my road again. It was to late to do anything. I heard a howl and my car hitting the dog. I heard the bones splashing against the bottom of the car...
    I feel fucked up.
    I try to comfort myself by telling me that the car probably killed the dog right away and it did not suffer to much.
    Still...Its a little dog. I have a similar size one myself...
    What was it doing on the road....
    Why was the light so bad..
    Could I have done anything to prevent this...
    I need a drink...

              why didnt you stop and make sure it was dead or could possibly be saved with medical attention? perhaps see if it had a collar and tried to find the owners to apologize?

                  that sucks ass, but sometimes shit happens. Not much you could have done to not hit the dog.

                              You could of done something to prevent this by stopping your car and make sure the dog crossed ok instead of taking off when you saw a car coming, that car would of slowed down anyways. But please don't beat yourself man, have a drink, get drunk and tomorrow is another day. The fucked up one was the one who let a young dog roam like this without being there with the pup.

                                  A very big chance it did not have an owner. There are a lot of stray dogs on my island.
                                  If the dog had an owner I would have a bigger problem since it was in a very dangerous neighbourhood. What you would call the ghetto. My girlfriend was sitting next to me.

                                  I think I killed it because of the sounds. If not the cars behind me must have hit the doggy as well. It was impossible to come to a full stop till quite some way down the road.
                                  Maybe I can call animalcare but the road was very busy. When I say pretty sure its dead I mean 100% its dead but I have a hard time acknowlodging I killed a doggy...

                                  I love dogs. I have a mini pincher myself. I am a vegetarian because I dont want animals to suffer.

                                      I did not take off when I saw a car coming. The car behind me was like a few meters behind me. I could slow down just a little but a full stop would have ment a pile of cars and people getting hurt.

                                      Its one off the things I keep trying to tell myself. Probably a stary dog but that does not change the fact that it was a living being.
