What? Trade links counted as backlinks? There is no fucking way how outbound link can change to be inbound link. Or do you mean trade links from other sites?

Google rarely penalizes based on a single thing, but multiple things gives it a "full picture" and then BOOM. If everything in your site looks like shitty, it probably is shitty.
