Truthfully there are those among the religious holier-than-thou extreme who want to tighten the boundaries of censorship and, if they can, stamp out porn either all together or as much as possible (but preferably all together). You must already know this though, how could you not? People like Jerry Falwell and a growing herd of followers have been chirping on the evils of porn for decades now. And when people in this industry are seeing some of our own doing a 180 on us and joining that group I don't think anyone can blame them for getting a bit steamed at them. It's only natural.
That said, I like Ivy, always have. She can do what she wants, and I for one wish her well in whatever that may be. If her endeavors end up hurting my business at any time I may very well speak up about it, but anyone has a right to decry porn if they want. They can still believe whatever they like. My thinking its silly shouldn't affect them. If they want to believe that an all powerful giant invisible father figure made the earth in 6 days 6,000 years ago and still exerts control over their lives thats fine. Good for them.
Some people NEED to believe in something larger than themselves, some just need a nudge that they think their deity gives them to get over a rough hump. Its my personal belief that they'd be better off with the self confidence gained from doing it on their own rather than having perceived help.
Of course you can't prove god doesn't exist. You can't prove a negative. Yes, I believe in logic and science. The beauty of science is that it CAN and often is wrong. It's a constant work in progress to improve and expand.
The concept of god and belief in god or most holy books rely on faith of an intangible truth that can never, ever be proven or disproven or even supported by any sort of evidence. Could a god exist? Sure! So could a flying invisible unicorn who shits out predetermined destinies for newborn babies. Are people actually talking to god? I doubt it. doubt even more that a god would be listening, but it makes people feel better to do it. That's also fine, but don't expect me to think its not silly.
I don't have a problem with religion as long as people can keep their sermons and proselytizing away from me.-uno

Not all religious people are as opposed to science as you may think. In fact, the Catholic Chruch accepts both theories of Evolution and the Big Bang, and has made it very clear that the Genesis (wolrd created in so many days, Adam And Eve, Noah's Ark, etc) is not factual. The problem is that most of the people here are used to living amongst the religious fanatics in the US, mostly radical and extreme protestants, who IMO give a really bad rep for anyone who has a more open mind towards religion and faith. I know they aren't mutually exclusive. I'm not that absolutist to say you can only believe in one and not the other. There is always middle ground.
