every niche has their "top" guy. And then there is "taste" also.

Sure there are guys that stand out, search for Catalyst here on GFY, his work is amazing.
If you're talking about porn shooters (video/stills) I think Max Candy does some great work.

I somewhat disagree. Let me put it in this context. I want to come up with a good list of 10-15 of the top guys.
I can easily name the top 10 players in the NBA. Maybe there will be some debate about 9 or 10, but you'll clearly be able to tell why they're on the list.
Sure, Zach Randolph can support himself on the $17 million he makes each year, and I'm sure in his own mind he's pretty solid, but he's not one of the best players in the league.

there are great photographers and then there are great photographers who are known on GFY... not the same is it really? and in adult you mean hardcore? if not then look to some of the great photogs shooting for playboy..

I am my own favorite photographer when it comes to porn....I use a point and shoot digital camera in the back of a cargo van with tinted windows and no lighting except the flash on my camera and the sunlight that comes through the windows.

Don't have to be known on GFY. Don't necessarily have to shoot hardcore. People who shoot hot chicks - that's really the only qualification.
