That's what's changing right now, people are no longer living in the moment. We are replacing our own personal experiences by recording those moments and uploading those experiences to the internet instead.
We're just being programmed to interact through technology so every piece of data in our lives is recorded. Google Glass and VR is coming very soon, which is the next step.
You're quite right that more intelligent people will use technology differently but those left in that minority are going to become increasingly frustrated by the world we'll be living in.
