    CGI Software for Creating Short Animations?

    A friend wants to get into this, please can you recommend software, he had a look but said it was pricey, what are the options?

      what kind of short animations ?
      Adobe CC is 50$ per month with annual commitment, and I'm sure he can do whatever he needs in After Effects.

                      That's the first thing that came to my mind, but I guess he's got to go on this journey himself and who knows where it might eventually take him, even if it's just an educational lesson, or maybe it will work really well
