About 3 months ago, someone very, very dear to me was attacked in a viscous and disgusting fashion. I did not know initially, but after a few weeks of problems between us, it was revealed to me what had happened.
In a burst of anger, I spent the better half of that week deciding how to find and to kill the individual that had done this. I calmed down after a long, long talk with my loved one and realized that the better way to deal with it was in the legal fashion.
The months that followed were fucking hard for me. I woke up every day feeling like I was punched in the face. I couldn't sleep at night. I fell into a deep state of unhappiness and our relationship was stressed to breaking point.
To cut a long story short, last week the individual was sentenced to a lengthy prison sentence, putting to end the stress and pain that I had endured during my months of support for this individual.
My healing process has begun, as has hers. Today, I felt like a new man. I felt refreshed, I felt ignited for life.
Best of all, I felt like I could return to work.
