I had my first at 25 and my last at 43, I'm fixed now, but with 6 kids, ranging from 16 months to 19 years old, I'm done.
Some people aren't meant to have kids and some don't think they are meant to...until they do. World changer for sure.
Before kids, I never thought I'd ever be a dad or have kids...boy did that change. So far, things are going pretty good...only one that doesn't want to talk to me (not counting the 16 month old ;-)), but she's 17 and thinks she knows everything, and guess who got the call the other day when she found herself in trouble that her mother couldn't bail her out of?
Parenthood is a bitch. I can't think of anything that is equal parts maddening as well as rewarding. My oldest is just a couple weeks away from his post-high school education and on a nearly full ride education for multi-media design.
Rochard makes a great point about that love. even when they are pissed at you and swearing you up and down, wishing they had "another daddy" you still love them with all of your heart...and they end up coming around to not hating you so much.
It's one hell of a ride and not meant for the squeamish or a bunch of pussies.
