as we all know, money is a big huge flowing thing, from 1 place to the next, and back again. Along the way in your example, everyone still earns, from those loaning the money, to the directors, to the players, to the staff, to the tea lady.
Which is why everyone, everywhere is ALWAYS worth what they are being paid. When they aren't, they are out of that job. Only at *that* point, are they not worth the money, and even then, only to their former employer.

If a company is losing money that means that somebody there is not worth the money they earn. As simple as that. That may be any position in club's case, not necessary the players.
