as we all know, money is a big huge flowing thing, from 1 place to the next, and back again. Along the way in your example, everyone still earns, from those loaning the money, to the directors, to the players, to the staff, to the tea lady.
Which is why everyone, everywhere is ALWAYS worth what they are being paid. When they aren't, they are out of that job. Only at *that* point, are they not worth the money, and even then, only to their former employer.Comment

exactly. So while they are still there, everyone is getting paid, the place is running, and everyone in that particular infrastructure is earning, nobody is getting overpaid.
If you bring in $100k a year, but have a $1m mortgage, and can afford to send your kids to school, sports, activities, eat out twice a week, go on holidays, and all the rest of it, can you afford to hire a $5k a year grunt worker to do the things that enable you to earn the 100k a year, to help finance the 1m mortgage, or are you suddenly running at a loss and everything is about to go tits up?
Times that by about a thousand, and you'll understand that footballers are 'overpaid' about as much as a 5k a year grunt worker is.Comment
