Well yes it sucks but this is a common practice,done either by external xsales,adverts inside members area and other ways where affiliate ain't getting shit.I think sponsors which dont have anything external where affiliate is not credited are not much.
But still the key should be does main product convert -
you could have other sponsor which dont have such thing at all,but dont convert yet this one could generate a lot of sales.
Also,sponsors rarely do anything when there is such complain,for example some offered xsales free links in affiliate control panel but not much sponsors did that.
