    Clips4Sale vs Clips.com

    What's your experience?

    I have never used a clips store beyond clips4sale as I have heard stories with them taking a higher split, like 50/50 versus 60/40. More traffic to one that the other. People not getting paid on time for their clips, etc.

    What is your experience if you use one, over the other. Or both.

      I've used c4s for 3-4 years now.

      Never missed a payment (other than the one time they had a merchant issue 3+ years back).

      When I need something I can always call, or e-mail Neil to bust his balls, and get an answer.

      My customers trust clips4sale, and have no reservations about buying clips or dvd from there.

      Support is fast.

              I've heard that as well in sales comparison. Basically to paraphrase what I was told a year or so back was, "It's not even worth the upload time"...

              I was just curious if that had changed, or others had some luck with one over the other.

              This is not an attempt at a bashing thread, just simple comparison. Yes, free money is free money, but still. Thousands versus a five spot would be a strong reason not to waste the time.

                          clips never misses payments. Always on time. but they are around 5-10% of what c4s brings in for me. It's easy extra money since I've already got the animated gif and description made for c4s, but c4s is the cash cow, and c4s is where I actually funnel se traffic. I haven't gone this route yet, but I hear VOD is great through hotmovies (clips parent).

                          Wait! This is GFY what the hell am I doing? Uhhhh, I'd hit it! ;)

                                          I've been doing buisness with neil and clips4sale for over 3 years.
                                          I get my check between the 6th and 10th of every month.
                                          And if I need to talk to Neil, I just give him a call and he either answers or returns my call within a reasonable time. Clips4Sale all the way...

                                              10x+ better with C4S.

                                                  Clips.com offers a lower pay out, BUT you can have the opportunity to make money on the referrals too, even if they don't buy from your store. So if you send the traffic that converts, than you can make a similar percentage to Clips4Sale.
                                                  I've done exceptionally well with Clips4Sale, and am just starting off with clips.com. I have a feeling the more "vanilla" stuff probably converts a lot better than the fetish stuff, atm, but i'll have to wait and see.

                                                          The Clips.com people are good people; trustworthy. They were VERY straightforward with me when I talked to them, which I particularly appreciated. They told me in the beginning that I wouldn't make the same sort of money, at least not to start with.

                                                          The tall tale sign for me will be how quickly I become one of their top selling stores. i know how many clip sales in a week it takes to get in the top selling on C4s, so if it's dramatically less on clips.com, I'll have my answer.

                                                                      It would be nice to have an affiliate sign up code in your case . I do not think they have rolled one out yet. It was something they talked about some time ago, but just checked the site, and still no roll out.

                                                                          I just uploaded a bunch of clips to C4S for the first time starting a couple of weeks ago and was doing pretty well, making over $100/day in sales for almost two weeks straight. It got much slower the last couple of days though and yesterday was my first day without even a single clip sale. Hopefully will pick up again as I upload more clips. I will be trying Clips.com next and see how it goes.

                                                                              Were you a new store? The new stores are listed on the front page and get more exposure.

                                                                              Also, this time of year is up and down. I've got stores there that will vary as much as 50 % from day to day. It depends on if you are depending on their traffic entirely, or are driving your own traffic. It also depends on your product, how good it is, how well it fits in with the traffic it's getting, etc.

The more you update with clips on C4S and get on that front page, the better you do! I had a clips.com store for a while and it never did much of anything. I have had a c4s studio for a few years now and it has always kicked ass! My vote is C4S!!!!!!!!!!

                                                                                                      Yes, that's absolutely a key. Knowing when a good time of day to release a clip will also help ensure those update notice on the front page are used best.

                                                                                                                      Yes, I was a new store and I was furiously uploading new WMV clips six or so times throughout the day so that surely helped get on the front page and drive traffic and make sales. I started uploading MPEG versions of the same scenes today just to keep the uploads going every two or three hours throughout the day, and I am starting to upload more new clips too. I made over $70 in sales while i was sleeping last night all of this primarily from C4S traffic! :-)

                                                                                                                                              As a content provider, yes C4S has more traffic than us and chances are good you will make more money with them.

                                                                                                                                              As a webmaster though, if you push your store through us, we'll also pay you a webmaster percentage on ANY sale through you (on top of your own clip sales), not just for your own clip sales. This is where the difference is. If you're pushing traffic to your C4S store, you might be missing out on sales your traffic is buying in other stores.

                                                                                                                                                      that's the point I was trying to make, lol. If you are promoting your own store, you get the webmaster referrals and the clip sales, which makes the percentage on par with c4s.

                                                                                                                                                      I'm sure that I lose some of the 20k+ hits that I send to c4s daily to other stores with no gain, so the appeal to me is in trying to see where that traffic converts.

                                                                                                                                                          Another thing you might consider, is that they (Clips.com) have VOD theaters as well, where people pay per minute instead of downloading. I know you have a lot of content, so packing it in longer format for VOD might work for you.

                                                                                                                                                              I have used both, not worried about the % I get since it is the check amount that matters to me, Hell they can take 90% as long as I am making more then the other dude, right now I am doing about the same with both but it looks like clips.com will be passing the other soon.

                                                                                                                                                                              I find that the scene itself or the particular screen cap matters a lot more than the clip length. I try to make mine 5 or six minutes, up to 8 or 9 minutes for the longer scenes with a few shorter clips 3 or 4 minutes if the full length scenes are shorter like for my softcore vids. But on the other hand some people think nothing of spending $30 for a single 30 minute scene.

Non nude fetishes for instance, often sell better if they are a little longer (at least in my experience). Tickling video's sell better for me at the 10-12 minute mark, tease and denial at about the same, but forced orgasms sell better at about 7 minutes.

Based on the feedback, and for those who use the single clip selling business model....

                                                                                                                                                                                              Most use C4S. Through their experimentation, store owners make significantly more through C4S than clips.com.

                                                                                                                                                                                              On the flip side, some are loyal to clips.com companies, and are content making their money there, and look to the future of possibly more money in the long run through added bonuses, or features.

I always suggest to anyone that is interested in adding their content to our site that they really should try to have their content in as many places that they possibly can. We never try to steer providers away from one site in favor of another. Get out there and make as much as you can. That’s why you’re in the business, right?

Providers that are able to update often enjoy a much higher payout every month.
