    Do you always Gzip your server?

    Whats the downside?

      Yes, always. (mod_deflate rather than mod_gzip these days, tho with Apache 2.0.45+ etc)

      None. Some people might argue about compression increasing certain low byte file sizes etc, but it's a moot point imo.
