What does it mean when your webstats show thousands of hits from loads of unrelated .ru domain names?

Its been like that for years.......

Means they are trying to rank in your stats pages or they are desperate and enjoy meager admin traffic.

          I see it too.

          Old school referer spamming.

About as useful as tits on a bull these days.

Yes of course, Webstats page is password protected.

Is it worth doing anything to stop these .ru domains?

                      Add this into your .htaccess:

                      Code:
                      rewritecond %{http_host} !^www\.yourdomain\.com [nc]
                      rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [r=301,l]
