4pm? Hell the rest of my crew goes off-duty at 4pm, I plan on being half in the bag by then

And since you started me off with the blues today I think I'll continue that theme and slow it down just a bit with a little something that I recently rediscovered.

the in session, well, session kicks so much ass. Matchbox is prolly my fav, but that rendition of Born Under A Bad Sign is the best. And listening to Albert recall jamming with Jimi and Janice, you know Janice, always had her little glass in her hand.

          that's good stuff man..

                      you got it!

                      killer ZZ track.

And I'm with you, the sounds Gibbons can crank out of a guitar are mind blowing.

I grew up cranking ZZTop, and long story short, my sister went through recovery at the same center/program frank beard did back in houston in the late 70s. I met him a few times when he was sobering up, kinds weird

Muddy was God of the blues, no argument there.
(Didn't one of the guys from ZZTop have a guitar made from a piece of Muddy's house?)

but, he never was able to make that transition to electric,

and it's electric blues guitar that always lifted my kilt

I have no idea who the fuck this guy is but he sure plays nice

And then we come full-circle back to your man Gary Clark Jr,

Listening to him play I hear the genesis of every single rock n roll song from the 50's 60's and 70's (after that things just got kind of weird, too much acid I guess)

I'm playing those, mixing in my afternoon guitar practice session!

But since you mentioned acid and multiple influences in that GCJR track, this is his mash of Jimi's "third stone from the sun" with Albert Collin's "if you love me like you say"

                          it's 8+ minutes of KILLER!

                          can't imbed

People should stop making a big deal about the Black Keys and pay attention to Gary Clark.
