that's so awesome! your daughter gets her brains from her daddy right? whenever my daughter does something amazing and people praise her in front of me, i always say "she gets it from her mom". likewise, when she is tired and on the moody side or does anything unbecoming of a lady (ex.burping very loud) i say "she gets that from her dad" LOL

the "tude" appeared magically at about age 12 1/2. at first when i pointed it out she would totally deny it and not understand what i was talking about. she now knows when it is happening and can recognize that her behavior is unacceptable. it must be some right of passage into teenagerdom. i always get a sincere apology in the end. you are so on point when you say you will nip it right in the bud. i see the results of some of the kids that have gotten babied and allowed to be disrespectful to their parents and it is ugly. i use the old "if my father ever heard me speak with even a hint of the disrespect you just did to my mother he would have beat my ass and grounded me for a month. go to your room and dont come out until you realize how nasty and disrespectful your attitude just was!" she cries her eyes out and comes back very apologetic. treasure those comments she makes in appreciation of you now so you can recall them and stay calm when she gets hormonal on you down the road.
