No, it's pretty shaky without a gimbal, so I ordered one of those last night.

I found a tutorial online and with a $5 cable/antenna and 20 minutes of my time, I was able to extend the range quite a bit.

I get better range when I'm out at the park, as opposed to flying around the neighborhood.

Also, for some reason the range is better if I'm up over 300'

That's a hobby I know zero about, kinda surprised it was only $750. Do you mount your own camera or is even that built-in?

Man, I probably sink some serious time and $$$ into flying those things around, unfortunately I'm all booked up hobby-wise.

They are pretty great. They come with the camera attached http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DJI-PHANTO...item2c82aa8ad0

It's unreal the amount of attention you get though. People just stop and stare, asking how much they cost and wanting to fly it. Unless you like people watching you don't get one.

I've found some Phantom I clones for $250 wholesale, all the same features. I'm thinking of buying a few, flying this around and selling those as a result. A few times already, I probably could have gotten rid of a few on the spot, easily doubling my money.

I'm already making a parts list to build something bigger to carry a DSLR or something a tad larger.

The camera on this shoots RAW .DNG files. I played around with those a little bit:

Actually the Phantom 1 is a better buy all the way around

put a gopro3 on it you get better video and pics and for less $$$

the downside to the 1 is 10-12 min flight time vs 20 but the batteries for the 1 are 22 bucks batteries for the vision are 159.00

the 2 can use wifi for FPV but you figure out quickly its worthless because of limited range if you want FPV that is useable you have to go to real FPV

I returned the phantom 2 vision

They are very easy to fly IF YOU RTFM and watch the videos

                            Love the Phantom 1

I like my Phantom 1 too, but I never got around to putting a camera on it. I got this off of Craigslist for half of retail and it was 2 weeks old.

This is just to hold me over until I decide what I want to build next.
