A MAJOR Google update happened mid to late October 2013. A lot of people dropped a ton of key spots, and I am guessing you are one of them? I'm also guessing that those 9 signups were people that either had you bookmarked or still cookied.
After the first of the year it died because your ranking were already dead... you were just still getting residual traffic or something.
08/01/13 - 12/31/13: 1:7169 (9 sign ups)
9 x 7169 (roughly) = 64,521 hits total
01/01/14 - 05/15/14: 1:36371 (1 recent sign up)
Easy. Your traffic to the site dropped in half (almost).
Factor in tubes and the amount of free shit out there, well I think you get it. People may be clicking through just to see what they have to offer in order to get out their pencil and pad so they know what to download on torrents or what to look for on the tube sites.Comment

My traffic dropped because i did the same thing but with another sponsor (lifeselector), now i could show you my stats with lifeselector, they went from very good to very bad, in less than 2-3 months.

Then let me ask you this, without prying to much into your personal information... where is the traffic coming from that you ARE sending to them? If there is ZERO organic traffic going to the sponsor... are you buying it? Are you feeding it with a site that DOES have organic SE traffic? If so, what type of content is the site that you are getting the organic traffic from?
You are leaving way too many variables out there in the wind, so it's hard to determine what it is that happened.

It's a difficult one, CCBill converts at a much lower rate but at least you do get your sale. If you go for a sponsor who only invests in you when you are growing, you can actually make easier money as long as you stay within their 'growing' rule.
If it's a project you intend to leave best to go for third party billing

I think he's complaining because of the 1:36,371 part this year. A couple years ago most people would have expected at least 10-20 sales from that, not one.
But your graphic brings up a good point. The industry is pretty much turning normal paysite affiliates into McDonald's workers. You can't win with 1:30,000 conversions. In fact it's very hard with even 1:5,000 conversions.
If you mock him then you're probably mocking 90% of normal non-tube paysite affiliates out there with about the same volume.
