                                                                                                  here's a better example of DOF one which I learned when my dad was teaching me photography back in the late 1970s.

                                                                                                  A camera's aperture works just like our eyes do, when we focus specifically on an object, our DOF narrows down also and everything else is out of focus.

                                                                                                  take a look at this picture with everything in focus, look at the mountain top and notice the log in the foreground is out of focus. Now shift your focus to the log and the mountain top is out of focus.

                                                                                                  We can let the viewer of the image handle the DOF or a shooter can take the liberty of doing that with the camera.

                                                                                                  The benefit of letting the viewer do it is it allows them to pick any part of the image to focus on, which works well when someone is wanking off to that pic.

                                                                                                          I was shooting many years before I worked for Hicks. Depth of field is one of the first things that you learn when you start studying photography. I learned most of what I know about Photography from practicing, analyzing the pictures and studying the works of great shooters that I admired. But it's entertaining that you think you know more about my life and who taught me shit then I do and I was the one who lived it.

If you can't look at other photographers work objectively, respect them for what they do and have some professional etiquette about yourself, best thing to do is not open the threads. Otherwise, you're gonna be disappointed and then feel the need to criticize their work and that just makes you look like the rest of the worthless trolls that populate this board.
