Is the cam studio business still a growing sector filled with opportunity?

Hi CamBoss. From everything we can see from processing our clients chargebacks, the cam business is not really growing, instead it is simply in a constant state of evolving/changing. There is a shift in consumer spending moving around between certain companies, as they apply different influence over certain consumer behaviors.

Yes is a good business if you run it the right and professional way.
I can tell you our earnings increase 10 - 20% every year.
We have been 12 years in the byz and it is really evolving.
Now at days you can not joust put your models to work in some place and seat and wait.
You also have to do the webmaster part of the job and promote your models if you really want to see results. We are looking for CAM Sites where our Colombian Models can work.

Big cam sites are doing well, it is obvious by the advertising spending. You asked about cam studios, that depends by the country mostly. As others mentioned, Colombian studios is the growing ones in past few years. Philippines is a no no. Romania it is more home models than studio place. Also check this thread:

I think that virtual cam studios are on the decline because more and more models are figuring out that they can just signup directly with the cam site and make more money. On the other hand if you can run a physical studio and provide a service that is beneficial in your city then I would say go for it. If you do open a physical cam studio I do not recommend advertising in strip clubs that are near by LOL ...unless you want the owner of the club hunting you down.Comment

A cam studio can be a really good thing, but it takes alot of work and money to do it right. You want good size studios that are comfortable and properly decorated, with good lighting and sound. Fast, modern computers and cameras are a must to make your streams look as good as possible of course.
You will also need to keep it very clean. Create a routine whereby your studios are throughly cleaned every day or even after every shift. You don't want your cam girls getting infections by touching the mice and keyboards splashed with bodily fluids.
Make sure that wherever you do it, the landlord is cool with what you are doing. You don't want your business suddenly turned off because your landlord has moral issues with your line of business.
On the plus side, a studio can work really well. A good steady flow of models keeps the money machine turning, and possibly gives you extra content too. The extra money you put into your computer hardware, cam, lighting and studio design will really look good to the customer. Your customers will appreciate the high amount of detail and the extra money you have invested to make it look good will be paid back to you very quickly in minutes sold.
Have fun!Comment

I have been sort of watching this thread to see what is said ...
- With Flash becoming obsoleted by device usage -- Android and iOS.
- With tablets and smart phones taking a major share of the market.
- With HTML5 peer2peer browser video close to production.
- With non traditional payment processing becoming a reality.
We will all need to make major changes, and fast.

models are lazy shits...the business is wonderful...I can get models making 100$/hour with some minimal traffic and say 2-3 months regular work...the problem is, the lazy shit is happy with just 50$/day in my shit hole country...
finding just one serious model is a task I have yet to accomplish...its fine during the first 3-4 months but then they buy all their stupid shit clothes and solve their stupid problems and fall back to 50$/day and do not care...it buys them ciggs and coffee and tampons...
is the studio + generate traffic model profitable? FUCK YES!...give me one serious model that will work 6hours every fucking day and ill have her making 500-1000$/day easy...but the problem is they all quit as soon as they enter their new comfort zone...
out of 30 girls that have seriously worked for me, only one is worth promoting...
its not the business...its the girls...or at least in my country they are all lazy shits...

Each day, less and less young people buy laptop or desktop PCs. A very tiny % of prospective cam models buy something with an i5 or i7 processor. Likely because they are broke or cheap.
Why would they? Most unskilled people can do everything they need to do online with a smart phone or ipad.
This is an issue that needs to be addressed by cam sites.

if you can get girls to works its a very good biz.
but thats a lot hader said than done....
Many girls that will make thousands of dollars A week easily just don't have the focus or determination or motivation to do it.
It's very difficult to find motivated intelligent hard-working girls that will do XXX WebCam.
Do the math. how many REGULAR top girls are active on the sites.
very few over the whole world population.

Hi Camboss.
I really cannot say. Personally I am not responsible for monitoring or studying the consumer behavioral trends, and second, we are keeping an eye on our own clients, such as the cam platforms, looking for trends, and anything pattern that we can trace that may support an increase or decrease in overall chargebacks. Last I doubt I would be permitted to discuss anything very specific.
