Google are now masters of lobbying and exerting influence, really interesting article about it in the Washington Post here

Exactly!

German Media Exec ?Afraid Of Google?

This is what Google think about your privacy

Honestly if that was a quote from the Stasi secret police would you be surprised?

It's funny in a way because posters on this forum bitch and cry about piracy and everything being given away for free but that's exactly what Google has done, they gave you free Search, free Video (YouTube), free Social Network (Google+), free email (Gmail), free OS (Android), free storage (Drive), the list goes on and on and all they ask for in return is EVERYTHING about you!

A complete digital version of yourself, any thought or opinion you've ever had in your life and it's owned by Google!

FREE is deep rooted into everyone's conscience, the problem is no one realises just exactly what they've given up. We haven't just given up our privacy, we're giving away the window to our souls.

Anyway what is my point? I'm not surprised that Google is abusing their position, my concern and everyone's concern should be about how they'll be abusing their power in the future when they build up ever more sophisticated digital avatars of their users.

They've already purchased the AI company DeepMind, they've got Google Glass rolling out and they're working with Quantum computers atm

We're headed towards a very dark place in the not too distant future, a future where the big corporations and government know more about you than you do
OBEY! - Quantum will be interesting.
