    Imagine that a woman is 30 and still always being addressed as "miss"...

    I think it's fucken annoying. If you can't see someone's ring finger you shouldn't assume their status.

    Imagine there is a hypothetical situation when there is a woman who is 1 month of turning 30 but keeps being called "miss" by others she comes in contact with (like sales people etc) should she correct them? No matter what clothing she wears how how she carries herself or how much makeup she wears people keep calling her "miss" because she is small in stature and petite and she looks young...

    Usually if a woman looks 30 I think most people would use ma'm automatically but since this woman looks young she keeps getting called "miss" and it really bugs her! What should she do whenever people keep calling her this? Should she whip out her drivers license and show that she was born in 1978? BTW, people are only calling her "miss" because she LOOKS young but she isn't young! It really aggravates her A LOT!!!

This is the same type of situation where people bitch because they still get carded at the age of 30, but then they get upset when they stop getting carded because it means they are starting to look old. You should be able to distinguish between the two when someone says it. "Miss" (Miss) and "Mizz" (Ms.).

                                                                                                                                  Unless I know for a fact that the lady's married or not, I was taught to address a woman that appears over 18 as "Ms."

                                                                                                                                  The "Miss" thing has nothing to do with age. It's all about marital status.

                                                                                                                                  "M'am" follows "yes" or "no" when respectfully addressing any woman of any age.
