if you are alone and travel on budget, you can find accommodation in every city for 15 euros per night, I've been in Barcelona in some place for 12 euros per night, single room, shared toilet, but you have sink in room so you can piss there...
even in berlin, I was with ex girlfriend, we had accom for 24 euros per night, nice room with toilet and in charlottenburg
and food, you can try something special once and then survive on chinese or turkish. but in lisbon, you will want to eat portugese food and even in places eat-all-you-can for 6 euros, food is excellent
did I mentioned that weed is also free to posses there? if you are in that. actually, when you walk the main street, at least 5 guys will approach you and offer sun glasses and when you are not interested, they will offer weed and hash... and you can smoke freely in park. not my type of fun, but some people enjoy it so just giving advice...
