I'm a big boy and can handle myself... But leaving my wife and kid behind in forty degree weather on a little used road when we had no cell phone coverage was less than ideal. I had fun with it - hitched a ride in the back of a pick up truck and then had a two hour mock snowball fight with that huge "Welcome to Montana" sign....

I can understand the wife and kid thing. I have a small baby and a wife and would not feel ok leaving them behind even if it meant going for help
