Yes. But to compare it to gold mining in the old days they used to find nuggets sitting above the ground worth $1 million. These days you have to dig 70 feet down with a backhoe to find fine material worth maybe 10% more than what you have to pay to get to it.

In case you know nothing about gold mining that means the profit margins tend to be far less and the work involved significantly greater as compared to the past.
