Question for musicians / home studio owners / Mac users

    What-up, rock stars!

I'm looking for a mixer / audio interface for my Mac. Is there one that:

    - Connects by USB or Firewire
    - Lets me connect mics, guitars and other devices
    - Lets me connect headphones
    - Has output for speakers or line-out to connect to an amp
    - Controllable by DAW software such as Logic Pro X

    ?

I'm looking around and am finding tons of things that seem to do this but alot of the terminology is over my head. Any help would be appreciated.

    I use a Scarlet 8i16

They're not bad for the price. You can get other models which have less or more inputs depending on need. Works perfectly with Reason, Live, Logic Pro etc

I use a Scarlett as well and I like it a lot, but I have to admit I'm just an amateur with a little bit of an equipment addiction. I'm all about Ableton though.

            Thanks for the feedback everyone.

ADG: I had heard about the Apogee Quartet and originally passed on it because of the price, but it looks like this is the clear winner considering all of its features and crazy reviews. Do you use this one yourself?

I have Protools LE... it's great if you don't mind dropping the dime... you wouldn't believe the ridiculous results you can get with GarageBand on an iPad... I'm serious

I use a Scarlett 18i6 too with Ableton, works fine although I have had overall issues with my imac usb port. Although I have a shit ton of other toys I mostly use an Akai MPK 49 and a Rode NT1-A with it. Actually about to build a proper soundproof studio rather than my current set up which is more of a large music room.
