It think it totally depends on the person, and the context..."girl" can sometimes be condescending, sometimes its a complement. But i'd also say there are no 17 year old "women"...18 at the youngest...

I think I agree with most people on here. It really depends on the person. Though I have to say, most girls under 30 are just that - girls. I think the title of "woman" is earned. Woman implies maturity, girl is someone who hasn't reached 'that' maturity level yet. I consider myself a woman. I did consider myself a girl up until I was about 31 or 32. Is that giving too much of my age away LOL ;o)

And yes, I would be offended if someone referred to me as a girl. I've earned my right to be called a woman...

it doesnt depend on the age as much as the scenario around her. if she's around a bunch of 25 year olds at a party she's still referred to as a girl. if she's a secretary at work, now she's a woman.

a girl is a girl until she gets over the stupid shit "pamper me, and don't make me put any effort into anything" stage, only after she can stand on her own two feet and put effort into making herself an equal in a relationship and/or life can she be considered a woman. I'd say the majority don't hit this area until at least 25...
