Choice trade.. they are one of the cheapest in the biz and you can actually talk to someone on the phone with out waiting 45 mins.
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.

I use e-trade. They are more expensive, but compared to the actual $ amount of the trade the cost of the trade is not significant. I would rather spend more on a big name company.

I just started investing for the first time last week. Has been going pretty good.

I usually push the "Buy", or "Sell" button, respectively. eTrade for the commercial whore win.

Try Saxo Trader from Saxo Bank: http://saxobank.com/
I have tried a lot of online trading platform, but SaxoTrader is the one with an unbelievable amount of trading choices. Most SE and Forex crosses are available.

I've never even heard half the names mentioned in this thread...
If you want a good solid and reasonably cheap company, tdameritrade is good

I use them but was just looking around today. Tdameritrade is clearly the most expensive out there. Scottrade looks like a value and has been around for years and has offices etc so you could walk in and bitch if you had to. Insanely cheap is www.interactivebrokers.com. I used them in 99 so they have been around but that is all i know of them.

I am planning to get into this soon.

I hear the pros use Schwab, but I don't really know how all the brokers compare.

Scottrade has a very bad rep for being next to impossible to get anyone on the phone. I'm telling you choice trade is the way to go.
