Online scheduler, time organizer, company task list, script

Anyone have one that works well? To assign tasks to employees, keep track of time, checklist type thing? Something that isnt a pain to install and get up and running, and have logins for each user type thing?

For small tasks and small companies, there's always Scotland Yard (Windows). I started making a webbified system to do precisely this called whoWhatWhere, and abandoned the project.

You might also look into ACT, or just setup an Exchange server and let everyone do it over Outlook.

SySoft. That's right. It's kind of hokey and oldschool, but it works. ACT is a bloated sack of shit these days. Good luck.

I know this sounds stupid at first reading, but its not as daft as it sounds...

            Use a yahoo group...
Make it private, and set employees as members, you as the group owner...

I know of people who have done this and it has proved quite successful...

Thought about that, also thought about just setting one of our forums sections as a usergroup, but Id love to see something like has an area for a todo list, then like place for a calendar to mark dates for shoots, etc etc. Just need to be able to use time better, and to delegate tasks out better. Would like to see something bit more 2008 style

I dont see a point in throwing money away for the sake of it, if its not needed...
One studio I know, was using an external intranet provider, at $99 a month....

Someone realised it was just a glorified yahoo group, and switched over...

I was teasing. However, I would not trust my company to a free service; wether it be Yahoo, or GMail. Sure, they're useful and free.. but you have virtually no support if something goes wrong. Someone paying $100/mo for that is, well, stupid. Evidently they can afford it, though.

You get a calender that you can mark up in a yahoo group... you can even set it to email all the members / staff automatically say 1 day before a calender event... As for 'to do' lists just make postings in the main group so as everyone who logs in can read them...

Like I said, I know it sounds cheep-ass and stupid, but I have seen it work myself...

On the other hand, I setup a Yahoo group in 2000 and it's still working. I should say 'Hi' to those folks I used to work with. It's been about a year, again.
