How to pay for Obamacare, its pure Genius!

Does he realize who he's talking to? Is he really this dumb?

I agree with his stance that people need to set better priorities, that is 100% true. The amount that people pay for their kids cell phones just blows my mind. With that said, I cannot imagine that his response went over very well with that crowd, or with any crowd with families trying to live on $36,000-50,000.

"Suck it up, cut it back!"

    Whole thing is mind blowing…

Enough people do, but your point is valid as well. Often times people will say "work harder," and then they get lambasted. Mr. Obama just said "stop wasting money so you can afford my demands," which he should be equally lambasted.

          I like that word. Lambasted.

yeah, and those people - well, obviously he is right with that word 'prioritise'.

I'd be spitting feathers though if I was living day to day, with no cable, no cellphone, and so on (which truth be told wasn't that long ago at all), and was told to 'cut back' by some cunt who has zero idea of what 100s of 1000s, if not millions, of his countrymen are going through currently. In fact I'm spitting feathers on their behalf already - all too easy to assume others who are struggling are all watching plasma TVs, playing on xbox kinect, and jazzing up their iphones, when in reality that isn't the case.

You'd expect it from those gullible enough to believe the low-level media, but you'd think a president would be a bit more well-informed

It's so easy to talk about "prioritizing" when he isn't in the "working man's" shoes. It's sad when the area I live in cuts off public transportation at 10:00 p.m. and the only means of transportation is walking or taking an overpriced taxi to-and-from work. I've cut costs: no cable, girlfriend has Virgin Mobile service and I have T-Mobile (which sucks). I've cut spending way down just to pay bills and recover from foreclosure, bankruptcy, child support, attorney's fees etc. I don't have a Secret Service detail following me around while I take vacations to Hawaii. My vacation will be to Orlando, Florida this summer. And that is 2 hours northeast from me... If you think this method of forcing people to get healthcare is the answer then spend some time counting the billions wasted on food stamp fraud and other government assistance scams. If you can work then you can get a job right??

Ok so do people pay health care taxes in US and this is extra or how does that work?
300 sounds like 10% of his paycheck, that is what people pay in many countries for "free" health care.
Or is that 300$ supposed to be extra and that is why people are unhappy?

good point/question though, we get covered for ALL healthcare, regardless of pre-existing conditions, severity, etc - I'm far from clued up on americaland, but I don't believe even that 10% goes anywhere near the level of healthcare we get in the UK for 'free'

I think it's crap to be forced into something. If you don't have health insurance and you go to the emergency room, then you are left with a bill that you can't pay for. Bill collectors will get ahold of you and will set you up on a payment plan if you want. But being forced to do something is not the right answer. This country has been coddling illegals too long. And they should focus on that instead of lining the pockets of law makers.

So I take US do not have mandatory (forced as you say) car insurance (that pays to the victim if you cause accident) as well?

Car insurance is mandatory, but the level of required insurance varies. Car insurance is also not comparable to health insurance. You choose to drive a car. You do not choose to live. Well, I suppose we could kill ourselves than not have to worry about paying health insurance. That might solve some problems.

The problem is that when you skip out and don't pay those bills it raises the cost for everyone else, those of us who do and that is why healthcare is necessary.

I believe Obamacare is a step in the right direction. It's not implemented well right now but it will be tweaked and will turn into this country finally having some sort of healthcare for most

98% of them can't. So the taxpayer picks up the tab.

So, how much of the losses in federal reimbursement are charged to the person who pays for healthcare? And, how much is paid is the end by the taxpayer?

Obamacare is a stepping stone to universal healthcare along with a payroll tax/income tax to pay for it in "americaland" as you put it.

Using the existing private health insurers is a transition option -- I can't see it as a permanent solution.
