    Oscar Pistorius - Did He Do It?..

    I am going for no - Evidently because he was disabled he was terrified of being burgled - It had happened to him a number of times in the past and I can imagine him feeling terribly vulnerable...

    He had access to guns and knew how to use them - That combo was a disaster waiting to happen.....

    Just to clarify - He did do it - The question should be did he mean to do it?..

                                                  Do you guys realize that in SA a judge decides if you are guilty? No jury. And his female judge has come down hard on men in the past regarding violence against women. Oscar is TOAST. By this time next year his BF will be pinning Oscar's stumps behind his ears.

                                                  Is he guilty? Part of being a responsible gun owner is that you know the local laws regarding justified use of deadly force. He obviously did not follow the law if he did in fact shoot through a door.

                                                                      I don't pay attention to this stuff... but from the snippets of news i've heard, they fought like cats and dogs... he was known to have a violent temper.. he'd had the police called on him for waving a gun around.. he'd made threats to people with his gun, he lied to police and his story is highly improbable.

                                                                      It's depressing to me that anyone could even entertain the idea that someone fired gun shots through a closed bathroom door - with no idea at all that it was his girlfriend on the other side as an accident. It means he did not hear her voice. Which means he made no attempt to identify, warn etc... and they in turn also said nothing to indicate they were a threat to him. I am of course not an Australian attorney but i'd guess he'd have to prove he faced an imminent threat... which seems impossible to prove, since he clearly didn't.

                                                                                                              I don't know about anyone else but anytime I'm sleeping at night and there's a loud or weird noise, 90% of the time I'm not the one that heard it, my wife wakes me up to "go check what the noise was". If in the odd case I hear something and wake, first thing I do is check where my wife is, is she next to me in bed, is she in the bathroom, then I investigate the noise.

                                                                                                              I'd like to think he didn't mean to kill her but all the evidence points to him being guilty.

                                                                                                                  He should admit to heavy and long steroid abuse that damaged his brain turning him into an emotionally labile and violent man and plead guilty to 2nd degree murder if the prosecution would give him that deal. In Canada he'd get 10 years and be out hopping around in 5.

Confronting an intruder in your house should be the very last option, no matter if you have a firearm or not.

So meaning that the woman screaming was in a locked toilet inside the house. Not sure the judge might value that.

                                                                                                                                              Of course... Someone is in your house where your family is and you just call the police and wait. That makes sense. Otherwise, what's the worst that could happen to your wife and children when the intruder realizes everyone is stirring around? It's not like they are usually armed and dangerous or anything.

In order to be in his en-suite bathroom, the "intruder" had to be already in his home, past his bedroom and into the bathroom.                                                                                                                                                               What do you think are the chances of having the worlds most epic blow out, with both you and your wife heard screaming at eachother at the top of their lungs by the neighbors who live 400+ feet away, and within a minute after... there's a burglar in your bathroom? It could be a burglar... or it could be your wife. Why would you shoot through a door, unless you KNEW without a shadow of a doubt who was on the other side?

                                                                                                                                                                              Yeah I agree. Not only that but if there was an intruder locked in the bathroom, that gives him time to check where his girl is, he wasn't in immediate danger therefore him shooting wasn't necessary. The entire story is plain to see, they had a fight, I'm sure some bad things were said by the girl, he lost his cool and shot her.
