I had to use WordPress, since it was the cheapest alternative for my needs. And since then I'm using it for my members area.
Since you don't need "members" area sites - I'm inviting you to take a look at my blog - which is on the same site - and take a look at it. Basically I do have 2 blogs - one for the members and one for visitors/surfers, where I'm showing updates.
