I don't watch a lot of tele so I didn't see the tribute but I'll take a guess that the black dude in the funny hat playing "while my guitar gentle weeps" was gary clark jr. he's good, real good, and the guitar he plays is the epiphone casino, the guitar that the beatles, in particular, john, put on the map.

Yes! I didn't like him with Brad Paisley when they sang 'Here Comes The Sun' but then when he played 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' he traded licks with Joe Walsh and it was maybe the best performance of the night.

After the debacle that was the 1978 film Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (with the Bee Gees!) Frampton should never go near anything Beatles ever again.
