    Fastest UFC knockout ever

    Both men love to brawl and have knockout power in both hands.
    But what happened at the Broomfield Events Center was almost hard to believe. Irvin knocked Alexander down with a right hand and then landed two punches while Alexander was on his back.

    Referee Steve Mazzagatti jumped in just eight seconds in and stopped it to a chorus of boos. It tied the mark for the fastest end to a UFC fight.

                      I'm not sure that was the fastest... what about that guy who came out with the flying knee? Wasn't that like six seconds? Or maybe I'm thinking of a second round or something...

                                          Man, I can't believe that. Eight seconds? That's just crazy.

                                                                                  That was a horrible stoppage IMO. He could have waited another 5 seconds to be sure. All that does is just piss off the fans.

                                                                                  Look at how many times Noguera has been knocked on his ass, then the ref gave him a chance to fight his way out of it, and he comes back to win the fight.

                                                                                                          nog tends to maintain some level of conscious defense though. alexander's hands went wide and were dropping limp, mazzagatti called it right. by the time his hands hit the mat, his head would have already been still and flat, and he would have taken another big wound up right straight to the face. it wasn't necessary, we all know damn well it was over....

But it was a flying knee at the start of a round mid-match I was thinking of. It was early when I posted that... the mind hadn't woken up yet. Come to think of it, it's still asleep. ;)

                                                                                                                                  Whoever on Tommy's side thought that would be a good fight for him should be fired. Tommy did not look good in his two TUF wins (he was very, very close to losing both early) and Danzig dominated him in the finale. Tommy has farmboy strength that helps against inferior opponents - but once he starts fighting live UFC events like this he can't rely on it.

                                                                                                                                  He needs to really go back home and learn solid standup as well as something more than wrestling on the ground.
