texting USA from UK

    texting USA from UK

    it's that 6 monthly thing where I have to ask around again - how do we in the UK text someone in the USA?

    their number is eg 123-456-1111

    and how do they text me, my number is eg 07111-123-123 (making it 44-7111-123-123 isn't working)

    google throws up so many fucking variations that after multiple attempts I'm doing what I shoulda done in the 1st place, and asking here.

      0044 for uk 001 for US....put 00 infront of the country code.

              + 1 then the 3-digit area code then the 7-digit number.

              They would text you by using +44 then the rest of the number.

                          Then replace "+" with 00 if dialing from the UK and with 011 if dialing from the US.

                          If that does not work throw your phone out the window and get a new one.

                              00 + 1 + City Area Code + Number is the 'telephone number', but i believe 1+phone number would work as well

                                          US country code is +1 or 001
                                          Uk country code is +44 or 0044

                                          Ok, I found out that 011 is used instead of 00 for UK. A bot confusing for people. And + always replace either 00 or 011?
                                          So its best just to use + in order to avoid remembering which country needs 00 and which needs 011?
