That was probably the best (and cruelest) april fools joke that I've ever bought hook line and sinker.
I was visiting CJ for my daily chuckle back then and the boys there had been building up some lung infection that Paul D had been stricken with.
Then sure enough the morning of April 1, Paul had "died", and on his 22nd bday no less!
As I sat there reading his "eulogy" and crumbling with each sentence I then got on the phone and called their offices. Marc Womack answered the phone and I called to offer my condolences as I choked thru the words like a baby.
Marc - "hang on a second Jay"
Paul - "hey man it's Paul... dude, I'm not dead, it's a joke"
FUCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!
Will never forget that as long as I live....
